BDSM Diaries: Pain gives me Pleasure – #QuoteQuest

“It is always by way of pain one arrives at pleasure.” – Marquis de Sade

Of course, as someone who identifies as a masochist I 100% agree with this week’s quote.

I can’t really explain why I get off with pain but I do and have done so for many years now. As mentioned previously in other blog posts, I have been this way for quite some time and never really it was until I read fifty shades (yes, I know!!) that I fully understood what those feelings were.

I happened to be married to someone who identifies as a sadomasochist so we are fairly matched in that regard but neither of us knew this when we first started dating, which feels like a 100years ago now. We are actively in a BDSM lifestyle and have been for maybe 9 years or so. Our dynamic has changed over the years, like sexuality – it too is fluid. We have adapted our relationship to suit our needs and overtime have actively lived a relationship without labels or defined roles. We are what we are.

We both get off on pain and both of us derived pleasure from it. The sadist in him loves the slick reaction he gets from me and me, well I reap the rewards of those reactions. I get off on the fear of not knowing teamed up with the sensations I get from whatever or however the pain is inflicted on me. Add in his reactions and honestly, I couldn’t be happier.

My head isn’t geared to be in full-time pain slut masochist mode though. There are times where it can be too much for me – say just before I get my period, my body can be overly sensitive, and as much as I want and open need that pain and release, my body can’t tolerate it!

Pain and pleasure offer me a release like no other. There honestly is nothing like the clarity it gives me. The freedom it gives me is far greater than really anything else I have experienced. I feel lighter. My head realigned. My body releases all that build-up and tension. Basically, in a nutshell, I feel like a new woman.

I’m so glad you mentioned that you’re less tolerant of pain before your period, I thought it was just me!
