What I plan to do with my tomorrows

“Tomorrow is the first blank page of a 365-page book. Write a good one.” – Brad Paisley

I touched on a few of my new year plans in my Goodbye 2020, Hello 2021 post but I only really skimmed the surface as I knew this quote was coming up.

So what do I plan to do with my tomorrows?

If you follow me on Twitter (if you don’t, why not 😉 you can find me here), you’ll have seen me shouting about reading Stephen King’s book and I am bloody loving it. I am literally devouring pages of the book in chunks. Last night I read a paragraph in which Stephen mentions vocabulary and it really hit home for me. He basically said to sum up his thoughts is to use what you have and the first words that pop into your head because those words are what you mean and what is the point of trying to dress it up. To quote him directly – “As the whore said to the bashful sailor, “It ain’t how much you’ve got, honey, it’s how you use it.” I am only halfway through but I can see his book having a huge impact on me!

The next thing that I didn’t mention but I now know will be a big part of my 2021 is podcasts. I have no idea why but honestly I really tried to listen before and I just couldn’t. Today I was at work(my job involves a lot of going, no sitting and I am mainly solitary) and I mentioned to my husband about how my day was gonna drag and he suggested podcasts. I automatically thought of listening to Rachel Cooke. Rachel is a sex therapist, psychotherapist, and all-round super sex-positive person who I listen to on 2fm! I have missed episodes so I figured the best place to start. I devoured those fairly fast as I had listened to a lot of them already live so I figured I’d find Molly’s next and couldn’t but did end up listening to her chat with Hannah Witton. I always immediately drawn in and continued flicking through and listened to Kate Lister and Lola Jean too.

Honestly, today has been a revelation for me! I am a converted podcast lover so please reach out with any of your faves that I should be listening to.

Basically, my book for 2021 is still gonna remain unwritten right now – I like the idea of leaving the pages blank and letting each month of my favourites posts fill them in. I plan to document more of my life more and really dip into the nitty-gritty of our sex life more this year. 2020 saw me write more real-life sex posts than I have ever done before – 2021 will see me peel off another layer. The good sex, the bad sex, and me chatting about when we don’t have sex. All of it.

Another thing in 2021 will see me practice more self-care. I started on this towards the end of 2020 and I am going to continue it. I put everyone first in my house and make myself feel guilty when I want something for myself which really is utter nonsense but try telling my brain that. Well, that is exactly what I am trying to do – I won’t change overnight but I am getting better.

So to dip back into my post I mentioned more reading which I really hope to do and if I keep going, I’ll manage my target of a book a month (secretly I hope that is more). I mentioned about self tieing which I would really do – I have never attempted it and I just ADORE rope so yes that’s hopefully gonna happen. What I forgot to mention was getting my camera out and taking pics outdoors. Something I really wanted to do last year but didn’t get to because of *points at the world*. I even bought my tripod so really I have no excuse so fingers crossed that happens this year.

Finally, I guess I hope I finish the college course I am doing. I am still unsure if it’s where I should be but I’m nearly there so we shall see…

On Writing really is an inspiring book! I’m glad you are enjoying it! I really need to reread it. The Smutlancer’s podcast is a good one to check out if you aren’t already listening to it.

I actually am not would you believe – I have listened to Molly’s one and Kayla’s one separately but I haven’t together so thank you for reminding me of it! I have no idea what exactly has changed but honestly, it feels like a revelation lol x
