“The core of your
is never lost.
Let go of all the
you’ve done just
Curl up with your
rawness and come home.
You don’t have to
you just have to
let yourself in.”
― D. Antoinette Foy
My True Self
This image is possibly one of my most favourite ever self-portraits I have ever taken. It is also one of the rawest, vulnerable shots I have posted too because apart from the black and white filter you are just getting me. If you zoom in, you can see all the water droplets on me and I am at my happiest in warm water.
I usually don’t post straight on body shots, because I really am not so keen on my scars. Scars from my latest operation are very visible in this shot. The pudge in my belly makes one of them really pop and I really hated it until I saw this shot. But it is me. Body hair, scars, pudge…
My beautiful, loving, and ‘I want to jump his bones every minute’ husband has helped me understand that each of those scars matters and they don’t make my body less beautiful.
This wonderful community has helped me be proud of my body.
So I am raising a glass to acceptance. Raising a glass to freedom, raising a glass to being me, and raising a glass to you. Thank you for helping me be proud of who I am. <3 Xx
