BDSM Diaries: The Collar is never off

“Whether Worn Or Not The Collar Is Never Off” is the prompt to get us all thinking over at the new ‘No True way’ meme.

“So again I ask you, what does your collar mean to you? To me, it is my OH with me, his calming influence around me, His reassurance, His protection, and His love. I belong to Him, for Him to use me as He sees fit.”

That is a snippet from a piece I wrote in 2018 all about my collar and exactly what it means to me. I have been collarless since maybe August 2019 ish. My beads broke and they have never been fixed. I am not really sure if they can be fixed, to be honest and I haven’t wanted anything else to replace them. I have kept them all in a bag so who knows, may be in time, they may appear around my neck again.

The point is because I can’t wear them doesn’t mean all of the above suddenly disappears. Regardless if you wear beads, or metal or ribbons or an actual collar, they are purely symbolic and usually to just you and your partner. What I realized not wearing a collar is it is actually a state of mind. I still feel all those things.

It took me a while to get to that point though. I have felt like my collar not being there meant all what we are, wasn’t there anymore. Knowing and feeling can be the same thing but equally can make you feel like something you know is real isn’t there at all. While the feelings of wearing or not wearing a collar is a state of mind, so is the feelings that come with not wearing one.

“The placement of my collar was me giving myself completely to him. I am His.”

I am still His. Collarless.

Thank you for participating!
For me, too, it needed some time to understand that it’s not about wearing or not wearing one. The state of mind is the important part.

In my case I wear several things. I have a chain I wear around my neck purchased for me by my Queen. I think of it as a collar and never remove it. I wear my wedding ring and usually am in a cock cage. That only comes off if she wants it to. I also wear a bracelet that I can’t remove. I have worn it non stop since we got it and it requires a special key to remove. I have no idea where that key is. All of these things remind me moment by moment of my Queen and my connection to her.
