Day 27 / Sex Bloggers For Mental Health

This week’s topic for Sex Bloggers for Mental Health is Eating Disorders and as I said I don’t/haven’t had one but my eating habits are triggered by mood. I have been known to eat nothing or a lot depending on mood, I guess most folk do though.

May mentioned in her post about her daughters and I am currently facing this. At least once a week I hear my slim, beautiful daughter give out about weight and while I think she is still at the stage of not being overly fussed, I worry it will trigger into something more.

I really wanted to take part in Sex Bloggers for Mental Health posts this week after May alerted me on Twitter but I wasn’t really sure what to say. I haven’t much experience with eating disorders as such really. Then I saw Floss’s image appear and I felt inspired to push myself to recreate an image similar to theirs.

It looks harder than you think to write positive words on yourself. So many other words kept hopping out…. Anxious being a huge one but I refused to put them on me and kept it a negative free zone.

You can also take part….. I am happy to host anyone who doesn’t have a blog. Get in touch <3

  • WRITE a few things you like about yourself (your body or personality, etc) on a piece of paper or on your body.
  • TAKE a photo of you and the piece of paper or displaying your body art.

I like your image and your words. I’m a Taurus too 😉

I intended to write a comment yesterday but maybe I didn’t actually do so? I don’t have daughters but I feel what you and May wrote when I think of girls in general. I wonder a lot about how we as a society can help support healthiness, self-esteem, self-actualization in for young women. I wish I had more of a clue about what to do.

Advertising plays a huge role in how girls interpret themselves – sadly skinny sells and I don’t think that will ever change :((
