The Big Doxy Comparison Review

So you have heard of the name Doxy and are finally wondering which one to buy? My comparative review goes through all three (currently available) models and two of the newly released attachments available for the Doxy 3!

The Doxy family has currently got 4 different toys to chose from. The Orignal, the Die Cast, the Doxy 3 and the Don (which I don’t own). I am ashamed to say to own the Original and Die Cast for over a year and a half and never got round to writing about them… I guess somehow I musta been waiting for the 3 to appear but who knows. Better late than never, eh? 😉

Doxy is a UK based company and is currently the only wand out there to knock the socks off every other competitor and user alike! There is pretty much no other like it this side of the pond but given how much American bloggers rave on about Doxy, I’m guessing it must knock the socks of its American rival, the Hitachi Magic Wand. Based in Cornwall in the UK, Doxy started out with the very first model, the Original. Improvements in sex toy materials encouraged the production of the Die Cast and another upgrade has produced the 3!

The question is which Doxy should you buy? And you need at least one in your toy box because Doxy are awesome!

So in the images below :

Black – Original

Purple  – Die Cast

Silver – Doxy 3

The Original Doxy:

  • Powerful  body massager to stimulate, relax muscles and relieve aches and pains
  • Black body
  • Variable speed from approx. 3000 rpm to 9000 rpm.
  • Variable escalating pulse setting
  • Long 3-metre power cord
  • 19 cm head circumference to fit all standard sized wand attachments
  • The soft head covering is made from a hypoallergenic non-porous PVC that is free from latex or undesirable phthalates
  • 3 easy to use control buttons

The Die-Cast:

  • Powerful  body massager to stimulate, relax muscles and relieve aches and pains
  • Purple aluminium/titanium alloy body
  • Variable speed from approx. 3000 rpm to 9000 rpm.
  • Variable escalating pulse setting
  • Long 12 feet / 3-metre power cord
  • 19 cm head circumference to fit all standard sized wand attachments
  • Silicone head cover
  • 3 easy to use control buttons

The Doxy 3:

  • Powerful  body massager to stimulate, relax muscles and relieve aches and pains
  • Brushed silver aluminium/titanium alloy body
  • Variable speed from approx. 3000 rpm to 9000 rpm.
  • Variable escalating pulse setting
  • Long 12 feet / 3-metre power cord
  • Removable silicone head and now with new specially made attachments.
  • 3 easy to use control buttons

All those above descriptions are directly from the Doxy website – as you can see all models come with a 12 feet / 3-metre power cord, a 3 button interface, variable speed from approx. 3000 rpm to 9000 rpm and a variable escalating pulse setting. But ranging in prices from £89 all the way to just 1p short of £150 – you might be wondering exactly why 3 wands that are so similar when it comes to features vary so much in price.

Well – for one they all look and feel different. I personally think each model transfers vibrations completely different in use. The Original feels lighter than the Die-Cast but heavier than the 3, the vibrations penetrate well in the Die Cast, but even better in the Doxy 3 but not so good in the Original. The Die Cast looks better than the Original and the 3 is actually like a ‘Honey I shrunk the Doxy’ version of the Die Cast and last but certainly not least the head of the 3 beats the other two hands down – while it may be a lot smaller don’t let that fool you.

For me personally, Doxy have taken the motor from the first, the metal body and head from the second and mixed the combination together and minuses a shit ton of weight and created perfection. A slim, very light, silicone( removable) headed wand that has the ability to be a lot more pinpointed in use in comparison to its older siblings.

The Doxy 3 is utter perfection!

And just when I thought I couldn’t love my 3 anymore – Doxy has teamed up with Nexus and together they have created 4 different attachments to give you four new reasons to fall in love with your Doxy 3 even more.

We were sent the Rabbit and the Stroker versions to try out but there are four attachments altogether.

It saddens me to say we didn’t really get on with either :// The vibrations don’t penetrate well through the silicone of either attachment. I really had high hopes for these because unlike the usual wand style attachments, these actually screw onto the wand itself. The head of the 3 screws off and the attachment of your choice can be screwed back in place.

The rabbit shape doesn’t work for my body at all – it hurts in use, I found the silicone draggy, too firm and the vibrations just didn’t go where I needed them. My OH struggled to get himself inside the stroker and that verged on painful too. Regardless of how much lube was used either attachment just didn’t work for us. This really saddens me as we wanted to love both.

However, all is not is not lost! I loved my Doxy 3 before I tried the attachments and I will continue to do so. The 3, unlike its older siblings, is somehow able to be more pinpointed so the vibrations are hitting exactly where I need them to. Previous to owning the Doxy 3, I loved my other Doxies for body massage but for orgasms, they were just too broad stim to get me there. Now thanks to the Doxy 3, I finally can understand why a wand is a must-have in the bedroom!

To sum up my thoughts – Buy a Doxy 3 ! Less weighty, allllllll the deep, rumbly power and its pretty 😀

I would like to take the opportunity to thank MEO for sending me the Doxy 3 and the fab folks at Doxy for sending the Orignal and the Die Cast in exchange for an honest and impartial review this however in no way changes my opinion on the item. What I honestly think, you read! All images displayed are taken by myself!
