Review: Mimic Manta Ray Clitoral Vibrator

Everything oozed expensive, classy, ergonomic – Surely I was going to love Mimic Manta Ray Clitoral Vibrator?

Spoiler: Wrong! I don’t. Well I guess that is a little bit harsh. Technically, I love everything about it. Everything about this toy is perfect apart from the really poor motors which deliver buzzy vibes which unfortunately, is a deal breaker for me. However, it still may be the toy for you – so read on.

The packaging the Mimic Manta Ray Clitoral Vibrator comes in is rather beautiful – a sturdy cardboard box which has images of the toy splashed all over it. I opted for the turquoise colour which is cutely named Seafoam, because not enough toys come in this colour and it is rather spectacular. I adore blue, greens and turquoise. More toys are definitely needed in those colours. The box is coordinated to match the colour of the toy so if you opt for the other colours, lilac or black, that colour will be on the box.

Inside, you’ll receive a USB charger cable, a storage bag and instructions for use. The Mimic Manta Ray Clitoral Vibrator itself comes sealed inside a plastic case inside the box for complete peace of mind – you are the first person to use this toy.

The toy is charged via USB and there is a finicky silicone flap which needs to be lifted before you can plug in the charger. This does the job of making the Mimic Manta Ray Clitoral Vibrator 100% waterproof but it can be a pain in the butt to open. On the underside, three buttons are used to control your toy. The middle disc shaped dented button will power it on and off as well as flick through all 8 vibrations settings and the +/- buttons control the power. Other folk I’ve seen mentioned this toy say it is whisper quiet – I however find it loud. All it resembles is a large wasp, similar noise to this toy I recently reviewed so my gut was telling me we weren’t going to get on – and it was right.

Made from deliciously super soft, velvety smooth silicone – the entire shape oozes ingenious. A pointed tip for direct stimulation, wings or ‘fins’ allowing the user to experience more broader stimulation, rims on the wings again for more direct stimulation or even a form a texture should you wish to flick the sides against your body. This toy had so much potential. It’s ergonomic design meant I could hold it and allow it to stimulate my entire vulva region – nothing was going to miss out on the action. Buttons placed on the underside to the user wouldn’t need to interrupt play to swap to a different pattern.

And…. on top of all that, lights, the kind that don’t blind you, were added so night time fun could also be an option. Sounds like the perfect toy doesn’t it? And it should be except the motors.  Poor motors were added in that don’t distribute the vibrations well. I would nearly have gotten pass that if they were some what rumbly but they aren’t. High pitched, buzzy vibrations. It makes me angry as to why so much thought went into designing this toy. Creating something rather spectacular and letting it fall flat at the last hurdle.

And no – I didn’t come. I tried – god knows I tried. Gutted. So much potential. I do truly believe though, if buzzier vibes are your thing – then this most definitely is the toy for you.
